I'm sure they're kept in check by predators. Or they've developed other ways to deter being eaten.

And I read that they're very territorial. Perhaps they're fierce fighters.

I doubt they'd be able to do much of anything to something like a tiger or bear.
They probably just hang out far up in the trees for protection or something.

I think his neutral colouring helps too. He can blend in with trees and such. I know he likes to hide in some of my taller plants.

There were times that I did fear I lost him, but then I called out and he came up to me within seconds. I guess he didn't want me to worry about him.

I'd take a picture but it's hard enough to get him to stay in the sink, even when I'm gently coaxing him to hold still.

Looked after a kid who pretty much acted like a damn feral monkey though. That and there were tons of the things around the temples I looked after.
