Hmph...

[Lowering his cigarette, Sanzo paused, his eyes still focusing on the moon. He was calmer than normal despite everything, perhaps it was the quiet atmosphere that came with the end of the night, or perhaps it was the song of those on the moon.]

I could beleive it, with all that had happened. What's less hard to beleive is the fact that all of this isn't some elaborate fucked-up dream.

[With that his shoulders slumped, his gaze finally breaking from the moon as his head slunk down. Finally swinging his body around to face her.]

Take it you've been coping well enough though.

[She watches him, a bit startled as he turns around, but she nods with a little smile, almost sheepish.]

Truthfully, this place isn't entirely different from where I came from, so adjusting has been a bit easier. [And there's the fact she's, ya know, dead, so she just feels lucky to be alive.]

There are always people who need healing or help, and I try to do what I can. The temporary move here has been... interesting. Eventful. [She turns her head to look back at the dance floor and the other people. Her tone becomes sad.] ...It's too bad it's unlikely this peace will last.

So you've noticed it too huh?

[Crossing his arms he shrugged his shoulders slightly before looking off in the same direction as her.]

Despite the friendly atmosphere of the party, tensions are high. Considering the nature of both parties I wouldn't be surprised if a war would erupt any given moment.

They're practically looking for an excuse.

[Mipha nods, expression something like a quiet disappointment. She knows the peace won't last, but that doesn't make it easier to deal with.]

It's sad to think that soon the things they took as acts of good will might be twisted to fit a narrative they want to capitalize on-- Both sides.

I fear I will never understand the desire for war when peace could be obtained so easily. We are managing it now--I don't see why it should end once we separate. [She sighs softly an shakes her head.] But, it will end. I believe the phrase goes something about hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst?

[Nodding his head, Sanzo looked over the party, the various outfits of different colors representing different countries catching his eye. It was friendly competition at the moment, but it was fairly obvious how seriously the citizens of each side took it.]

I have my bias for one side over the other myself, but that is merely due to personal preferences and an overall need for self preservation. But in terms of how it's all handled, really it's obvious that both of them would much prefer to be at each others throats rather than experiencing this false sense of peace.

[It was no different from how his life was back at home...]

They have a complex history, with a lot going on. And I doubt either side wants to forget the losses they both suffered any time soon.
