IC PERMISSIONS

Physical Violence: Any extent really. I am open to most things. Of course with intense character harm I'd like to be approached about it first, but seeing as Sanzo's from a canon that constantly beats him up, I have very little issue usually.

Mental Information: Sanzo is a very secluded and pent up individual. He hates being open with people and doesn't do well with making himself either mentally or emotionally vulnerable. That being said, I am a horrible Mun and I would absolutely love to test out his limits and vulnerabilities as a character to their fullest extent! Feel free to mess with him as you wish!

Physical Affection: I wish you luck. As stated above Sanzo is a very pent up person. There are very few people in his own canon who can get close enough to touching him without getting a gun pointed to their face. But as a player I would love to see him develop and grow to the point that he could tolerate his fellow game-mates.

IC Triggers: Physical Touch, Being Hit On, Occasionally the Rain, Expressing Vulnerability, Seeing those he cares about extremely hurt, Taking or Messing with his sutra in any way

Relationships: Once more, good luck. Sanzo is a tough nut to crack when it comes to opening up emotionally. Though, if you do some how manage to miraculously manage I am all for it! Friendships, relationships, frenimies, I would love to see his personality and relationships with others grow as I play him!

Sexual Orientation/Sexuality/18+ Options? HE WOULD BE THE MOST DIFFICULT CHARACTER TO PULL THIS OFF WITH EVER! That being said, I am a horrible person with zero inhibition and would love to see the day someone can break him down to the concept. Be warned, there are some serious allusions in the series which point out that he may have been molested as a child, and as such he is very reserved when it comes to any attempt at emotional or physical interaction. But that's what character growth is for yes? (I'm in this for the slow burn.) That being said I'm initially playing him off as sea repulsed asexual but am also willing to bend things based around how his character naturally develops within the game. I am absolutely kink friendly and am even willing to play out the worst things, so don't be afraid to ask should our characters CR ever come to that.

I have no preference and am happy to play either m/m or f/f. If you are curious about which specific kinks I'm willing to play out feel free to check out my kink list here! As a heads up this is a broad list for me and I'm actually quite lenient, so don't be afraid to ask in case you're curious about playing out something specific.


POWER-SPECIFIC AND/OR SPOILER PERMISSIONS

Sanzo doesn't have much in terms of powers since he is just a human, but he does posses some abilities. Mainly he is capable of sensing the youki (malevolent or benevolent energy) of supernatural entities. His gun is also a holy banishing gun which has a higher effect on monster/demon like creatures. And his scripture has the ability to absorb and destroy all demonic forces around it. He is also the reincarnation of a god and occasionally shows occasional hints of his past life's capabilities. That being said the majority of all his capabilities can be summed up as follows:

Martial Master- Genjo Sanzo was shown to be ridiculously skilled in most forms of martial fighting from an early age. A flashback showed him physically taking down most adults while still a child, and he was one of the most talented martial fighters within the Buddhist monasteries. When taking part in a tournament later in the series, he made it to the semi-finals, only losing in part due to his temperament and knowledge of the ridiculous prize he would obtain from winning. He is shown to be especially adept at hand-to-hand combat and sword-fighting and is often compared as one of the strongest human characters in their world.

Skilled Sharpshooter- As good as Sanzo may be at hand-to-hand combat, his true specialty lies in ranged attacks. Having carried his trusted Smith & Wesson revolver from an early age, the gun is known never to leave his side. His targets seldom miss their mark, and he is shown to take out small armies worth of men with his gun alone.

Survival Tactics- Genjo Sanzo had spent a greater portion of his life traveling alone outside of society. He knows how to hunt, foredge, keep warm, and create shelter for himself in even the most unbearable situations. He has survived life in forests, deserts, and mountains for long periods. Often preferring the "roughing it" lifestyle over the luxury society usually provides.

Divinity Summoning- Although not skilled in most traditional mantra magic that the monks in his world are capable of, he has shown one divine power that makes him stand out from most. Harnessing a great amount of energy with a burst of emotion, he can manifest divine artifacts into existence. The one time it happened so far in canon was when he created a power-limiting diadem to control the out-of-control Son Goku when he was going on a demonic rampage.

Maten Sutra- The other skill he had inherited through his time in the monastery was his control of the Maten Sutra, one of the five scriptures believed to have the power to create his very world. Of course, the sutra is one small part of many, and it is only capable of so much. His sutra specifically carries the power of light and divinity. As the scripture expands and reaches out to his foes, speaking out certain incantations can form a large burst of light around him. Anything its light touches in turn 'brings things to light.' Most (but not all) of his targets often immediately being spirited to the afterlife.

Spiritual Perception- Multiple Times throughout the series Sanzo has been shown to pick up on people's spiritual energy and capabilities and even differentiate things about the person depending on that energy. Some things he had been able to gauge were a person's species, intentions, as well as overall spiritual power.

Empathy- Implied but not entirely confirmed canon, there have been multiple times throughout the series that Genjo Sanzo seemed to have an almost emotional sixth sense. One example was when he was ten and took on a bear that had broken into the temple grounds, managing to stare it down and talk it into leaving without harming anyone. Another time was when he was found as an infant, in which his father, Koumyou Sanzo, mentions having heard 'a voice' crying out to him from the direction of the rivers. And it happens once more when he is in his teens when he hears a similar 'voice' himself—following it without question over many miles and through mountain ranges only to find Son Goku, who had been locked away in an imprisoned state for nearly 500 years.

Saiyuki is a fairly old series (25 years officially!) but I am aware that with the newest anime currently ongoing some people may want to opt out of the most recent canon for Sanzo, if you do not wish to be spoiled to the anime I am absolutely willing to keep him from mentioning any current canon information upon request.
